What to say about sourdough breads?
Do you think sourdough breads better than conventional breads(industrial yeasts)?
Answers: Living in the SF Bay area,our sourdough is one thing we are
proud of, sourdough has more flavor than conventional
breads, and definitely tastier than something like
wonder bread. Given a choice of a crusty loaf of
Bordenave sourdough or a slice of some grocery store
bag of air.....sourdough wins hands down. Tough call -- I've had exquisite yeast breads and some sourdough that knocked my socks off. Pitting the best of each category against each other -- I'd have to vote for the yeast bread. For the most part yes... they have more flavor and hold up better through most post baked cooking methods when used as breading. Yes. I just love the stuff. I'm a bread eating freak anyway, but I've never had any better than a good sourdough bread. MMMmmm! I think I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like sourdough bread. Yuck! That's a tough call. I like them both, but I think it depends largely on what I'm using the bread for. Sourdough probably edged out regular bread though.
