http://www.pantheus.com/tgv/archive22002... If you think so,it is... i've never heard that unless you are Greek No, but it is very salty and slightly oilly (fat content ranges 45 -60 %). Originally made from sheep or goats milk, Feta is soaked brine. hence the saltiness. Lots of Greek dishes call for it and its great in a salad.
