Do you know the name/recipe for the corn snack Mexico City street vendors sell?!

Question: Several yeas back I visited Mexico City with some friends of mine and several street vendors were selling a corn snack in Styrofoam cups. I think it was basic corn (off the cob) with cilantro, some lime juice, and maybe cayenne pepper. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Can you provide me with a resource for the recipe - it was delicious!

I don't know the correct name for it, but I have eaten it several times. It is fresh roasted corn (off the cob) in a cup. There are a variety of things you can put on it - but mostly it is mayonesa (mexican mayonaisse that is lime flavored, mccormick makes this), lime juice and a pepper similar to cayenne , but different. You can find it at an international grocery store in the mexican section - it is usually eaten on fresh fruit.
I can only think of one thing for it..corn salsa! There are numerous recipes on the 'net with corn, cilantro, lime juice and jalapenos

This recipe is actually much better with corn that's been grilled and then sliced off of the cob, but if that's not practical for you, just remember to thaw the frozen corn in a colander..ENJOY!

Corn salsa with purple onion, red bell pepper, jalapeno peppers, cilantro and lime juice.
INGREDIENTS:

* 2 cups frozen corn kernels, thawed
* 1/3 cup chopped purple onion
* 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
* 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
* 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
* 1 to 2 tablespoons finely chopped jalapeno pepper
* 1/2 teaspoon salt

PREPARATION:
Combine all ingredients in a small bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours. Remove from refrigerator about 30 minutes before serving. Serve corn salsa with grilled meat or poultry.
Makes about 3 cups corn salsa.
