Do you celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr?!

Question: If you do then Eid Mubarak to you and all your family. If you don't then have a great day and I wish you all the best.

My question is I am having some friends coming around tomorrow to celebrate Eid, since I am not Muslim I have no idea what would be a nice meal for them. I will abide by the rules of Halal, and I understand the rituals of Eid but just stuck on what to cook for them.

Any ideas will be very much appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Yes I do celebrate Eid and Eid Mubarak to you too. Now as for the cooking and the food, this Eid is nicknamed the Sweet Eid so sweets should be the theme of the day. If they are coming by in the morning, most likely after the prayer, you definitely want some sweet baked goods such such as donuts, cake, pastries, and things of the kind. Some dates would be nice too. As for the rest of the day, if you are planning Lunch or Dinner for your friends, that could just be whatever it would be otherwise. Obviously everything throughout the day can't be full of sugar but don't forget to pay special attention to dessert.

If you are specifically looking for ideas on what to have as a main course, then depending on where your friends are form (their ethnic background), it would be nice to attempt some ethnic food. It will be a pleasant surprise for them to see some food from home.
Eid Mubarak to you and all your family!
I would say a Chicken Biryani then loads of sweet desserts.
good luck and enjoy!
Halal food, for example :
chicken
meat from cow, lamb, horse
turkey
crab
lobster
and all seafood

Haram is something that muslim mustn't do or eat:
wine
beer
brandy and other that contain alcohol
pork
dog
snake

I think its better seafood with juice
Thank you dragon and may you have a great day too.

We make a special cookies called ma'moul filled with walnuts or pistachios or dates. It is laborious to make them but if there is a middle eastern store perhaps you can buy them from there.

As for a meal, I am sure they will be content with whatever you cook. Here, at dinner/lunch parties lasagna is usually made as it is considered something nice to make when you have guests.

We also make a salad called Fattouch.
Steak with mushrooms.
zuchinni with minced meat.

Banana pie.

If you are interested in any recipes, email me. I have to go no as it is almost time for the eid prayer.

Salam.
