Is "Millet and Fava Beans" an official dish in some country?!

Question: I've been eating this for years with unabating appetite. I never read a recipe to make it, just started some day with two bags of ingredients that I had, in a student flat in Canada somewhere.
You just boil millet, and separately boil fava beans, then put the two together and spice them a little with salt and pepper and white wine and tahini sauce, voila.

Millet is very African, and fava beans are quite middle-eastern, I'm told. Could this be an Egyptian dish, maybe?

It's not a national dish, apparently it's ITALIAN! It was an early version of polenta.
