Sukiyaki is the best ever Japanese food, It is a stew or fondue made on the table right in front of you, I also think it is a traditional dish to serve at new year celebrations in Japan.
Ingredients are:
Fresh Tofu
transparent rice noddles
Shiitake mushrooms
Oyster mushrooms or enokitake mushrooms
Fresh spinach
leek
China cabbage
carrot
Thinly sliced entrecote if beef
4 eggs
Slice vegetable in serving or mouthfuls pieces
Mix, 2cups Japanese soy sauce
2 cups Mirin ( sweet rice wine, or sweet cherry )
2 tbs spoons caster sugar
Bring the mix to boil in a saute pan
When boiling add the vegetables in order that the ones that cooks slowest goes in first such as carrot and leak, then add tofu and noodles and the mushrooms at last add the meet slice by slice and let everything boil for two minutes.
Take one egg per person and whip it slightly into a bowl and add the boiled meat and ready to serve, with rice.
Also scoop up some juice and vegetables into another bowl and eat everything together taste heavenly

I love Japanese food!! I live in NYC and go to a place called "Go" in the village, great prices and food. I have the Yaki Soba, its stir fried noodles, either with chicken or pork and veg if you want. someplaces even serve as soup.
DEATH NOTE FAN !salmon sushi is the best you can find ,simple with the best fish and soysauce .dip it correctly ,fish first and all of japanese cuisine you ever tasted is in that orange fish
Japanese fruit: i think they are called lychee's.a small rounded fruit with sweet white scented flesh .a large stone and thin rough skin .. but there again it could be Chinese fruit.
if it's Chinese .then there is nothing i like in Japanese cooking ..i hate raw fish .i once had to cook my own food in a Japanese restaurant ..i think i tasted good few dishes .but i would not go back to a Japanese restaurant again ..how ever i will drink Saki ..
Natto rules!
Fugu – The poison Blowfish sashimi. They make you signed a wavier to agree that you eat it at your own risk. It is so thinly slice and it taste so good!
