Look around your actual community, city or town for a market that shows a big sign in Spanish like taqueria, mercado, panaderia, carneceria and the like. These little stores are usually found in strip malls and feature a grocery full of ethnic foods and usually a meat market and a taco stand inside. These markets generally have people working who are bilingual and can help you find what your looking for if they don't have it. By the way, Mexican cheese is usually called either "Queso blanco" or "Queso fresco". It's white and has a texture very much like cottage cheese but it's firmer. If what I have described is not what you were talking about then do like I said and look for one of these markets.

Good luck
