Answers: Italy (pasta)
Britain (fish and chips)
China (rice)
America (McDonalds)
For the same reason you can count on them having the same accent: cultural training. Many of us think outside the box and try all things, but even then a lot of our preferences are ingrained.
It's usually because it's what people are accustomed to eating, and the type of food available to them on a regular basis.
It is probably more to do with they way your way fed when you were younger. I adore Fish and Chips. plenty of salt and vinegar.
Tradition, culture, practice and availability. These are some of the factors which influence the preference of people.
hhm, maybe its cause they grew up with it and when your a kid you don't tend to be picky, or you don't have much of a choice with what you eat!

haha, i just read the mcdonalds thing!!haha
I guess it's just what we were fed as kids!
probably because they been brought up to liike the same food
It's basically supply and demand isn't it people who live in Asia say will eat a lot of rice because they grow a lot of it and it is indigenous to the region etc.
People eat what they are used to eating. But there's so much more to Italy than pasta (which is served before the main course), many Chinese cuisines, some of which use noodles rather than rice, etc. I really hope America is more than McDonalds, since I haven't been in one in about 25 years.
Try some new foods. There's a lot of good eating out there.
It's a matter of culture. When you're part of a specific culture, you're usually brought up to eat a specific kind of food. People of the same culture follow the same patterns, you know.
