Guadeloupe/Martinique?!

Question: I had an alcoholic beverage popular in Guadeloupe/Martinique
so many years ago that I don't remember the name. It was red and very sweet. Like a flavored white rum possibly. Definitely not a wine, I don't think... Would anyone out there have any idea what it might have been?

From the description, I will say old rum at least 10 years old or even more.
(in French : rhum vieux 10 ans d'age ou plus)
It could also be guavaberry rum a beverage made in St Maarten.
type it on a engine search you may find some interisting adresses
