In France they'll sometimes put a raw egg in the middle of the pizza. It's still mostly runny when the pizza is done (it's a relatively small, thin crust pizza)

in taiwan, we put all kinds of sea food, like shrimp and squid on it. may not be that weird but def. different than everyday pizza here...

A genuine pizza has a thin and crispy base and only supposed to have tomato sauce, cheese and some herbs on it. It is the American way to pile them high groaning under the weight of unsuitable toppings.

Peter K is mistaken....Tomatoes come from the Americas, and did not appear on pizza until long after Colombus "discovered" that continent!

"Pizza" is actually a German word for the round flat bread with stuff on it invented by the Persians as early as 6 B.C.!

Come and try mexican pizza with jalape?o and sausage

You can get tandoori chicken pizza or chicken tikka masala pizza in India. I was suspect & tried it, it was fabulous!

Here's in the US we like to make BarBeQue pizza, with BBQ sauce instead of regular pizza sauce, and smoked pork, beef or chicken as the meat. Yum.....!

In Japan they use the "ink" from squids on their pizza, and I my aunt in New Orleans used Alligator meat on her pizza. . .

My best friend, though. His dad is a REALLY nature buff and he uses squirrels and dear meat on his pizza.

Heh, I think those are pretty unusual.

The word pizza is believed to be from an Old Italian word meaning "a point," which in turn became the Italian word "pizzicare," which means "to pinch" or "pluck."

"exotic" pizza with eggplants(aubergines) are made in Turkey, and they taste great.
