Answers: going to one for the first time on thursday wondering what foods do they sell.

Yum Cha = Drink Tea

Essentially, it's going out to a restaurant and eating Dim Sum.

What is Dim Sum?
Dim Sum are little bite sized dumplings, buns, or plates of rice noodles, plus various other dishes. Also, you can order off the menu where people traditionally order noodle or rice dishes. This is similar to the idea of Spanish Tapas.

My recommendations are:
Har Gow - shrimp dumplings
Sui Mi - meat dumplings
Cheung fun - rolled rice noodles
Cha Siu Bow - steam bbq pork buns
Deep Fried Taro Croquettes

Sweets
Egg tarts
Mango pudding

If you order off the menu, I'd recommend
Beef Chow Fun = beef with rice noodles
Fried Rice with chicken and salted fish (Hom Yee Fan)

If you really want to go weird...
Duck feet braised in soy sauce
Braised chicken feet

Here's a couple links that explain it a lot better than I can...
