Why do Americans complain about English/British food when Apple Pie is English?!
Answers: British/English is actually some of the worlds best now because they've taken over he French for having good food and having iconic food.I don't understand why the Americans don't like English food but i don't like American food,McDonald's and things like that.
I dont like Apple pie...
Many Americans actually like apple pie, so I can't go by ur example.
MATTER OF PERSONAL OPINION. People have the right to complain about whatever they want.
I don't seem to complain about English food..
Because people are complainers. Half the time they dont even know what they are complaining about.
I never said anything but this:
Hey!
But I can say whatever I want.
Maybe because apple pie tastes awful. Why would you waste all of those tasty crunchy apples by baking them until they're soft and stuffing them in a pie shell?
Most English food is considered fairly bland and not as exciting as French food.
who cares
Blood Pudding
Spotted Dick
Kidney Pie
haggis (food or punishment?)
Truthfully, the few times I've eaten what was supposed to be "traditional" British food, I found it bland and unappetizing. Maybe it was just the restaurant, but in America it's hard to come by "ethnic food" that's correctly prepared unless you live in a large metro area with several of the same category of restaurants (competition breeds better cooking). I've yet to find a city with more than one true English style pub.
They are complaining about overcooked vegetables.
it's the main reason why americans are in the america.... they complained a lot when they were in britain.... and then left for the americas.... they complain a lot of everything..... not just food....
Americans are so used to having sugar in almost all of our foods. There are many forms of sugar and sugar substitutes and many British food does not contain them. That's why so many Americans think British food is bland and terrible. Their food is more natural and less sugary, thus far better for you.
There are a couple of British resturants here in Central Florida and their British food is not bland., it is not as spicy as some American food but I would not call British food as bland. And I love apple pie.
I was born in the U.S.
I lived there for almost 30 years.
I don't remember hearing anyone "complain about English/British food". Irish food, yes, but not British.
No offense meant, but when most Americans think of food, they think, Italian, Chinese, French or Mexican. Not British.
I, for one, enjoy a lot of British food.
I love savory pies, shepherd's pie, Welsh sausages (I'll leave it at that, I don't want a violation), and black pudding.
And yes, Apple Pie is English but it was the Romans who introduced pies in general to the English. The famous Parma Ham comes from a method of curing invented by farmers in what is now Britain.
Where it comes from doesn't matter. Just enjoy it.
Because here in the US, we have FREEDOM of SPEECH and the 1st Amendment!!
