saskatoonberries are called Juneberries in North Dakota. there are some suppliers of juice or jelly around not sure how to get ahold of any whole ones retail. My friend, Mikey, sells Mikey's chocolates thru Pride of Dakota and she uses Juneberries for some of her fillings. not sure where she gets the berries except that I do know she buys it. Other place where I do know there are some is in my freezer. delish.

Sorry they are limited time fresh product from the province of Saskatchwean, they may have some frozen in either Regina or Saskatoon, but unlikely, they are a one season crop.

You say how do I know this, well 20 yrs as a chef in Canada and if you purchased some in a store or on a trip to Canada, you were lucky, If you need a Canadian food ingredient, I am sure there are tins of Quebec Maple Syrup in store in New Jersey.

Unlike the blueberries that grow in your state, these paticular berries grow on a higher bush and are done by mid-August up here.
