Answers: They are poppy seeds in the Bengali language (India).

CUZ SOMEONE WANTED THAT NAME TO BE NAMED

because it is poshto????

poshto or pista are seeds which were originially a seeds of plants grown in Afghanistan. I remember in my childhood Pathan making door to door sale ot these seeds.Hing which is used in tadka in the kitchen also came from from there and these vendors carried it also.

The mother tougue of Afghanistan is poshto or pusthu and probably the seeds coming from the pushtu-speakiang area are themselves known as poshto or pista. These seeds have a honoured placle in Indian cooking and indicate a rich life.(e.g. 'he is a rich guy. always chewing badam(almonds) and pista(poshto)').Poshta are contents of rich food. Poshto is an instance of the eclatic nature of Indian civilisation.
