Can I replace Cornstarch with Flour in the Candy Skulls recipe?!

Question: I am making Candy Skulls for El Dia de los Muertos and I do not have cornstarch. The "What you need" list says that Corn starch is for powdering surface, so I was wondering...Can I replace that with flour?
I need your awnsers ASAP as this is due tommorrow [I did not procrastinate, I just learned of the project yesterday and we had our halloween.]

No, don't use flour. Cornstarch doesn't have any flavor to it. The flour will turn to paste in your mouth and will taste disgusting.

Your oil question was way better to answer. this one probably ok. as a coating ? However there is a reason they want corn starch.

the starch is for molding the candy. because of the very fine particles of corn starch i wouldn't substitute for anything but another type of starch. remember you need to bake the starch to dry it out BEFORE trying to mold with it.

..no ,there is a difference in starch and flour of corn.
