Can ceviche be made with fish instead of shellfish?!

Question: I use a white fillet, like red snapper, hake or pike. I learned how to make it from a Peruvian friend. If you want my recipe, just give a call, and I'll give ya the best and the easiest one.

Yes it can. A frim white fish will do.

Yes my mother and I actually made some last weekend...we did it with Tilapia ..
we cooked it then mashed it...
We then took out
onions/ white and purple
tomatoes
green peppers
cilantro
lemons
we chopped it all up
mixed it in there squeezed the lemon
then added salt to taste
we ate it with tostadas and toppped it with tabasco sauce...yum!!!

yeah, I always thought they had fish in there with shellfish.

I make mine with white fish, firm bodied and it comes out fantastically with virtually no calories

Well, since none of your answerers have given you a star for your question, I guess I will. I have no idea what ceviche is to begin with, sorry.

You definitely can. I had salmon and tuna ceviche as an appetizer at a Latin American restaurant for lunch a couple of weeks ago that was very good. They cut the fish into small cubes before marinating it - I'd like to find a recipe for that and try it at home!
