Italian fried seafood?!

Question: I'm looking for an authentic Italian fried seafood recipe. I have eaten this several times at someone's house only on Christmas eve. It had shrimp, calamari, and baby octopi. It was so simple looking, but it tasted amazing. It had a light breading, not sure if it was flour or cornmeal.

That sounds like fried calamari.

You can use a commercial fish fry mix if you want. The secret is in the oil. Use new, clean canola oil at 350. Any cooler and it gets mushy. Any hotter and it may burn. Good luck and good eats.
