Where can I buy coconuts in Saskatoon?!


Question: I was wondering if anyone knew where I can buy a whole coconut in Saskatoon. I can't find where they are sold on google, and most of the websites for the stores don't list what they sell. Any info would help, I don't wnat to order any I want to go to a store and buy them! I have never seen a coconut other than on Giligan's Island, and never have tried cocnut other than in cookies. I want to try some various recipes on them and what ever else I can think of.

They sell the brown coconuts at the Real Canadian Superstore and Sobeys, if you just want the flesh and coconut milk. I know I've seen the whole, green coconuts on occasion at Superstore as well, but I'm not sure if they're seasonal or not.

Have you looked in the produce section of your local grocery store? If you want to use coconut in a recipe, you can't use "whole" coconuts. Most coconuts you see in the produce section of your grocery stores are not the entire nut. The thick outer husk has been removed.

You can buy recipe-ready coconut in any grocery store, in the frozen foods section. It's usually with the other frozen fruit.
