Answers: It doesn't have to do with just ethnic food, but a very good meal elicits a sense of joy and comfort.

chilies and chocolate are aphrodesiacs... means they give you a craving for love, and mexican and indian food has a lot of chilies,,, if that counts hehe

no

ha, maybe joy or discomfort

depends on how it digests

I think so...In my culture Food is the center of the universe and my Nonna told me that "you cook because you Love"....My definition of that would be you cook for the ones you love.....and to me a good meal can bring much love and Happiness...

Buon Apetitto!

Not if they are unfamiliar to you. People may get emotional responses from eating their own culture's foods because of nostalgia, especially if they have been seperated from it for a long time.

It depends on the food, it depends on the person. It's not just ethnic foods, but even home made chocolate chips cookies are powerful enough to evoke an emotional response. I saw an 83 yr old man shed tears after eating a choc chip cookie given to him by his granddaughter, he said they reminded him of his own mother's cookie!

Just ones that are comfort foods I ate growing up.
