First mix together 1 c of flour 1 egg and 2 cups of milk...stir til lumps are removed.

Peel banana's and cut on the diagonal into 3 to 4 pieces. Dip in batter and deep fry in 350 degree oil until batter browns.

You could also put a little cinnamon or nutmeg in the batter for some extra zip.

Now for pan fried bananas...you put say a stick of butter and like a 1/2 c of brown sugar in a fry pan and melt, then add your cut up bananas...cut em any way you like. Only if you plan to flambe would you then add your liquor...some Brandy will do fine. Touch the side of the pan to the fire and you have your flambe. If you don't flambe, just saute for a few minutes to soften bananas and serve.

Well, if it's dessert, it's probably made from a few types of banana. There's a regular yellow banana that you can slice in length and lightly saute in oil or butter and serve as a condiments with ice cream or pudding. The other kind is called plantain. It's in the banana family, but much bigger and is use mostly for cooking when green or dessert as well when ripe. I don't know whether you had dessert or appetizer or main dish. If it's green they can still fry it and serve it with other condiments. Another way, when ripe, it's simple sliced and saute until golden brown and eaten as a side with rice, and meat dishes. I love bananas. I have some great cooking recipes and dessert dishes as well. MMM. I love cooking with it instead of potatoes. I have to kill you if I give away the secrets.

are you sure that it was a Fried banana? Many carribean eat Plaintain or plantanos which is similar to a banana. You just heat oil in a frying pain, peel the plaintain cut to the size you want and place in the oil. let it get brown and crispy on both side. Oh yeah sprinkle a little salt in the oil it helps bring out the flavor. When you pick out the plaintain you know that it is sweet because it looks rotten on the outside but it itsn't its really ripe.
There is a large possibility that you ate plaintain..

Fried bananas are very commonly sold here in where I come from... You put banana in flour mixture (flour & water) then deep fry it till golden brown... It's that simple! Even some fruits & vegetables can be used.

I've had them bioled, then mashed, then made into breaded patties, then fried.
I've also had them cooked in brown sugar on a stick.
