How can I find Kosher meat for my friends in Uganda?!
Answers: I have two great jewish friends volunteering in an NGO in Uganda. they dont eat meat because there is no kosher meat around. How can I find Kosha meat for them.....Is thea Tinned kosha meat out there.
Although you may not be able to find a kosher butcher, there are plenty of Muslims in Uganda, and therefore plenty of halal butchers. I am not sure how strict they are, but halal butchering works on the principal of saying a prayer before the animal is slaughtered, and Muslims observe many of the proscriptions that that Jewish people do.
Also : there are Jews in Uganda... they are called Abayudaya Jews, who live in eastern Uganda. Perhaps your friends can contact them and see if there are kosher butcher shops where they are volunteering.
Kosher meat is from a Kosher butcher. I do not think it is canned.
