Answers: Looking for the flavour or mixture: tomato, minestrone, French Onion, Brown Windsor etc.

Due to the sales of a certain red can (not condensed) the singularly most popular bought soup in shops is cream of tomato or its various derivatives.
Whether this would equate to being the most popular soup is hard to say. Not too many folks make a tomoto soup at home, and you don't often find it on a menu in restaurants.
I would hazard a guess that the most commonly made from scratch soup at home is possibly some form of generic vegetable that does not conform to any set recipe or style.
Brown Windsor Swill was left to rot in the 60's as folks rediscovered foods again post rationing. Chowder and "irish" potato soup are not of these isles.

clam chowder,Irish potato soup

Potato soup.

I would have to say "Split Pea and Ham" or "Curried Chicken".

i'd say tomato soup

I always think of English pea soup.
