What kind of mexican food should I make for my class?!

Question: So next week Tuesday, in one of my classes we are having a culture day, where we're [obviously] each bring food from our background. I am 100% Mexican, and I love to cook Mexican foods, but I'm just having a hard time thinking of what I want to bring. The problem is that I have a class in the morning that ends at 10am, and my next class is at 5pm... soo I can either make something that doesnt require refridgeration and bring it to my first class and stay downtown all day [i commute from suburbs] orrrr... i can go home after my morning class, i would get there around 11, then have until 3ish to cook something... so I dont know.. what are some suggestions? Thank you...

do flan...youll be the class hero

Can you make a salsa that would be OK out of the refrigerator? If so, Chips & Salsa makes a LOT of sense. If not, maybe a cold dish. I'm sure they have them in the Mexican culture, I'm just not familiar with any.

Good luck!

Fresh is always best!

I agree since you have odd time schedule why not do two variations of a salsa ..queso is going to be too hard to warm up...or you could also do those fried tortillas with cinnamon and sugar those are sooo YUMMY!!!

Hi, how about a bean dip ?? Layer a casserole dish with refried beans, (or a can of chili beans), next, layer with either shredded chedder cheese or mozerella cheese, then put shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes over the top.. at time of serving, add scoops of sour cream on top all around platter, serve tortilla chips on the side, this way they could scoop up portions on there own, something simple and tasty.. suggestion, it wanting to have warm, microwave the beans and cheese before adding lettuce and tomatoes, delicious !!! another idea,, layer a casserole dish with cream chesse cut in pieces all around the whole dish, add your beans.warm in microwave, top with shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes, serve with tortilla chips or doritos , its delicious,, beleive me!!! try it ,, you might like it.. good luck..

I'd go home after my first class and cook.

Is there anything you eat that isn't common in Mexican restaurants? I'd cook something like that so your classmates could have something they can't buy at a restaurant.

If you can't think of anything, here are some of my favorites:
quesadillas
queso dip and chips
enchiladas
tacos

i think what you should do is tostadas because its better and people can put whatever toppings they choose than doing individual plates

quesadillas!!!
those are the best with some sor cream which buy before going to class...
YUMMY
