What is the difference between Paprika, Pimenton and Chile powder?!

Question: If you could shed light on our each are made.

Answers: If you could shed light on our each are made.

Paprika and Pimentón are the same, they are made of the same kind of peppers, which have kind of a smoky flavor. Paprika should not be hot, only nicely spicy.
Chili powder is made of chiles, which are hot peppers. In Mexico we use chile piquín in powder, very hot. Yes, it looks the same as paprika, but the taste is different.

They are all finely ground red peppers used as spices.

Paprika has very little bite, Pimenton has medium heat, and chili powder is a mix of cayenne powder (Moi caliente!!!) and cumin, a mild herb.

Off the top of my head:

Paprika, mild, sweetish red spice, used in Hungarian cooking - my Ma used to put it in goulash.

Pimento is a small red vegetable, not used in English cooking much, hotter than paprika, not as hot as chilli

Chillis are a hot vegetable, which can be bought in powdered form, and varies from extremely hot to "call the fire brigade" When buying chillies, the smaller the fruit the hotter it is - never eat the seeds, and after preparing chillies, always wash your hands thoroughly before touching any other part of your body, esp. eyes and private parts.
