. . .is sushi always raw?!

Question: if ur talking about the fish on the inside and stuff..no.. Just because it is cold does not mean it is raw. Everything in it is cooked and the fish is cooked or else u will get a stomache-ache from it. (sushi rox!!)

No. Sashimi is raw fish. Sushi is anything that is prepared Sushi style, which is wrapped in rice and/or seaweed. Many kinds of sushi have cooked ingredients, or the whole roll may be cooked.

Some sushi is raw but not all. Some are cooked some of the "Maki" rolls have cooked ingredients. Sashimi is raw fish

No!

Sushi comes in many different varieties.

Capamaki is usually not raw, however most Sushi dishes differ with the seasons, closeness to the sea, and other things that affect freshness.

If you are squeamish about raw seafood, next time you go to the Sushi bar ask for "A Be" very light with the wasabi[horseradish], it's peeled cooked shrimp on top of a boiled rice cake.

Nope...definetly not

Nope. but it is always good.

Nope. Most sushi are raw, some are cooked :)

no there are cooked varieties.

i like the ones with egg. used to live on this when i did a lot of my jobs in the city.

Sushi is not always raw. The best thing to differentiate between the cooked and raw stuff is to ask or read the descriptions you'll typically find in mot menus. Just because it's rolled does not mean it doesn't have raw meat inside. Sashimi is always raw and is pieces of raw fish by itself - it's not in a roll or on a nest of rice, it's just the fish. The (maki) have a combination of raw or cooked fish or imitation crab with veggies. Nigiri (a pad of rice with a slice of meat on top) can be made with raw fish or cooked seafood. If you're looking for "beginner" sushi without the raw stuff, try start with the California roll or any sushi that features shrimp - it's usually cooked. Unagi is good too - that's smoked eel with a yummy sweet sauce. Salmon skin is also cooked.

nooooooooooooooooooooooo way!

if you have ever gone to Sushiland they have a sushi called spider roll which is fried crab in rolled up in rice.

Sushi refers to the rice and how it is prepared. Not what goes inside or on top.
