Whats the best way to make white rice?!
Answers: i love white rice...whats a good way to make it
For one cup of rice use 1 1/2 cup of water. You can use milk and butter a 1/2 cup to 1 cup water or 1/2 chicken broth to 1 cup water for flavor. Add a dribble of salt and pepper and cook on open flame until rice boils. Then cover and lower flame until water evaporates.

I bring water and rice to a boil and then cover tturn off heat and let set. Makes perfect rice all the time!!!!
I agree with lori, the best way is to steam it. but I boil mine because I don't have a steamer. just make sure you put a top on the pot of boiling rice if you choose to boil rather than steam. but steaming is the best way.
you kind of stir fry it with Little butter then you put the water add Little of knor swissa and let it cook (that's one way but i do it many different ways.
In a chinese rice cooker. The brand thats made in Japan with the Elephant on it. I have one and its so easy to keep clean and make all kinds of rice like spanish rice and congee and with no big clean up to do afterwards.
Buy a bag of white rice at Asian store.
usually chinesse supermarket. And cook it with a rice cooker. They have the instruction on the bag.
The only way to make delicious white rice is by Steam it with right amount of water. That is the theory behide the rice cooke, so if you don't have one and have a steamer handy at home. Use the steamer, the water amount should be 1/2 inch higher than the rice level (this is the rule of thumb), but the time to steam it depends on the steamer that you have. Your steamer should come with instructions....my does (even for making white long grain rice, short grain rice, or even brown rice). If you don't have both, I suggest you to get a rice cooker, it is pretty cheap nowadays. I like mine just steam and no butter or any spicy in it. But of course I eat it with delicious Asian entrees.
BOILING WATER--------------------AND RICE--------------TOP CHEF
First you need a good rice pot. I don't like rice cookers. I use a heavy thick pot. Buy short, medium,or long white rice which ever you prefer. I use either short or medium. Use 1 cup of rice for every cup of rice you use. Usually two cups of rice is more than enough for my family of 5. So 2 cups rice and two cups water in the pot, salt, and either 1 tbsp olive oil or 2 tbsp of butter which ever you prefer. Boil for twenty minutes or until done. Don't keep mixing or mess with it. I stir only once and I do it carefully and smooth the top with a spoon.
use double amount of water to rice. boil water and put in rice. cook according to instructions on box or bag. no draining with this rule of thumb. say 1 cup rice to 2 cups water. works like a charm.
If it is long grain rice then soak it for 15 - 20 minutes. Rinse. Other rice can be just washed and cooked. The recipe is the same.
For every measure of rice take 2 of water. Add water and rice in a pot and bring to boil. Once the boiling begins put the burner on simmer and cover, leaving just a centimeter of the cover off at one corner. Keep checking the rice should be done in 10 - 15 minutes, depending on the quantity.
I would say 2 1/4 cups of water, a little salt, tab of butter..1 cup of long grain rice..combine, bring to a boil then lower to MED/Low for 20 minutes..perfect every time.
Well it depends whether you like long or med. grain. either is good in a rice cooker, but if you don't have one. For every cup of rice, use two cups of water. Bring the water to a boil, then put it on low covered for 20 minutes and it should be done.
