Troubleshooting:

Was the insert in the freezer for 24 hrs?
Did you put the ingredients in cold?
Is the paddle insert staying stationary and scraping the sides? If the paddle is moving, the machine won't work, it has to scrape the frozen bits off of the sides.
If this were happening to me, after a hour and a half I would put the insert back in the freezer, and chill the ice cream liquid in the fridge, and try again later.
Good Luck!

Your ice cream maker must not be cold enough? Did it freeze properly? It should only take 20 minutes to form ice cream.

Is it cold? The liquid, I mean?

Is it one of those "freeze the canister" types, or ice with salt types?

My guess is that either . . .

- the canister wasn't completely frozen, or . . .

- you didn't use enough salt.

But this question is impossible to answer with anything other than a guess, since you have not given us *any* information.
