How come most people's eating habits seem to be stuck in their adolescent years?!
Answers: Candy, fast food, hamburgers, milk shakes, hot dogs, cow steak etc. We all ate this stuff when we were kids, but as I got older I became wiser about my diet and realized how bad many of those aforementioned foods are and now avoid them as an adult. However this is not the case for many if not most people.
Do the words "comfort zone" mean anything ;-)
People like what they ate when they were kids and most refuse to grow up... :-)
I would think that alot of people relate those foods to their childhoods. Different foods relate to different memories. Most people have good memories of their childhood so those foods are a reminder. As adults, eating hot dogs and drinking milk shakes may remind them of going to the park, zoo, or carnival as a child. Tomato soup and grilled cheese reminds me of my dad when it was his turn to cook us dinner when we were kids.
It's nice to be able to think of happier childhood memories when eating foods (or smelling a certain scent, or watching a certain movie, etc.). Maybe people want to recapture when things were simpler.
