Sushi questions!!!?!
Is that true? or is it just there in case people want it and like it?
Answers: ok, when I first ate sushi I was told by my dorm mate who introduced me to Japanese dining, that the wasabi and ginger were there to kill some sort of bacteria or whatever so that we don't get sick when eating it.

Not true
Wasabi is for taste
the ginger is to clean the palate for the next kind of sushi your eating. Especially when switching from fish to fish.
I love a good piece of sushi but when it comes to wasabi and ginger I say nope..and I'm not sick. I'm not sure about it for sure but I know I've been able to live healthily through the bacteria without it.
Hope I helped, even if only in the slightest. ^^;
They are condiments, like catsup or mustard.
my mom always tells me to eat it.
i think that people just put it there to eat. nothing relating to bacteria. but guess it is safer.
flavor not an antibiotic, ginger is very healthy but I rarely eat it, I just had japanese last night
I looked online and it said in one place to stay away from the green wasabi. It only covers up the sushi that is not fresh. They put spices and/or wasabi to keep customers from knowing that the raw fish is not fresh.
It said most people aren't eating real sushi; most of it isn't raw fish or it isn't fresh. The redder the fish the less fresh it is. There are a lot of shady practices out there because raw fish is expensive. They can't afford to waste it. Sushi is best near the coasts where it is easily available.
