Caviar is the roe (eggs) of a female sturgeon. The sturgeon is a long fish and in the UK if one is caught, it is technically the property of the Queen, I believe. Caviar comes in various grades, some of it e.g. Beluga is even more expensive than other types. The cheapest caviars are brown but the real deal is black. It tastes quite salty and is extremely tasty on little pieces of plain bread, like a canape.

its just fish eggs.

FISH EGGS

fish eggs. the taste is very very fishy and salty.

Yes-fish eggs, technically the term is ROE. Usually from sturgeon (type of fish) although roe from other species is also used. Best quality caviar has traditionally been from Russia. FYI-if you eat sushi or california rolls, the little orange balls outside the rice are roe.

that's what it is ... FIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSHHHH EEEEEEEGGGGGSSSSSSS

Sturgeon eggs

Fish eggs

Yeah, fish eggs. Never had it before but it sounds really gross. ;)

Be ready to faint cos yes they salt cured fish eggs or roe of the sturgeon. There are yellow or golden caviar called sterlet and black caviar ( and most expensive) like the beluga (from beluga fish not whale), ossetra and sevruga. There are now many imitation "caviars" from salmon, whitefish and even a vegetarian imitation made with soy

Caviar is made from salted Sturgeon eggs (roe). Often other kinds of fish roe are substituted for the classic sturgeon caviar because it is less expensive, including lump fish, turbot, paddlefish and salmon. The most famous (and probably most expensive) Caviar comes from the Caspian Sea.

Sturgeon Caviar has different types. The best known and most expensive are Beluga, Ossetra and Sevruga. Generally, it is served in very small quantities, often as a garnish, because it is so expensive.

Sorry, but it is fish eggs. Usually it is sturgeon eggs.

It IS fish roe, which is fish eggs.
These fish eggs are so small that I believe that you will not notice that you are eating "eggs". Unlike hen's eggs there is no shell to remove.

It's made from petroleum jelly balls.
