Otto Frederick Rohwedder, from Davenport, Iowa, invented the Rohwedder Bread Slicer. Rohwedder began working on inventing a bread slicer in 1912 but merchants didn't accept it until 1928.
Yes it was actually in 1411 by the to be inventor of the bagel slicer Sir Herewood Rickets of Kent. He was beheaded in c.1430 however for applying margarine to a randy Spaniard who had clumsily disguised himself as a muffin.
