When reading food package labels, what's the difference between calories, and calories from fat?!
Answers: Not all calories are from fat. Some are from sugar and other sources so if you are counting fat grams you can tell the difference.
Calories from fat just tells you how many of the total calories are due to fat content in the food.
The calories represent the total calories in the product. Calories from fat are just those that came from the fat.
There are also calories from protein and calories from carbohydrates.

Fat calories began so that people can see what will quickly be absorbed into the body to be stored as reserved fuel if not utilized in the way of physical activity equal or better than the intake. To metabloize fat calories you have to exceed your intake. Protein works fastest to dispel from the body then carbs, then fat. So that's not only the difference but major reason for it's existence.
