Does reheating food in a microwave damage its nutrients?!

Question: If vegetables in particular have already been cooked and just need to be warmed up, does it matter what method you use to heat them? That is to say, does exposure to microwaves degrade vitamins more than using a stove top or conventional oven to acheive the same temperature prior to serving?

No a microwave does not damage the vitamin content of food any more than conventional oven or stove top. Since a microwave heats the water molecules you may want to add a teaspoon of water to what you are reheating to keep them from drying out but otherwise. The vegetables are going to be fine.

The nutrients were already damaged when they were cooked the first time, no matter what method was used. Raw vegetables are healthiest.
