Has anyone eaten at The Melting Pot?!

Question: I was thinking about going there and have to write a newspaper review on it. Got any info?

AWESOME. I was treated to The Melting Pot (Irvine, CA) and it was seriously one of the most fun eating experiences I've had. And the food was great, too. I'm sure you know it's a fondue restaurant. There are four basic types of fondue: cheese, soup, oil, and chocolate. The cheese is typically the appetizer fondue. For the entree you choose the soup or oil. With the soup you are boiling your meat and/or veggies. With the oil you are essentially deep frying. Finally (and my FAVORITE part) is dessert with chocolate fondue. You get a choice of different kinds of chocolate and goodies and leave feeling happy, full, and wishing you could eat there every day!

My best friend has in LV. I am waiting for it to open in Lahaina, Maui so that I can give them a try.

It's a fairly decent place, though quite overpriced. BUT! It's a great place for social gatherings...fun to go to w/ your friends.

I went there (Sacramento) a while ago... I must say it was the best dinner I have eaten in a long time.
Very good quality :D

It is amazing we go their every Easter and birthday. But it is very expensive but it is worth it. They make you work for your food. you heat your own meat. but it is fresh speaking of fresh there fresh fruit and dessert on tray is amazing. Hope this gives you some info.

the melting pot is amazing. we have one in nashville and its where all the groups go for prom and such. its expensive but amazing. you must get a dessert!

I have not, but my bf has, he says its amazing....
And it is also one of Hugh Hefner's fave restaurants. He and one of his GFs had the melting pot set up in their dining room for their anniversary dinner.
Guess it must be good, Hef is a pretty picky eater from what I know!

The melting pot was definitely not my favorite. It took too long for our meat to cook. Too much effort. Pricey. But you definitely have alot of time to get to know the people you are with.

I love it. My business partner and I have been to about 11 of them when we travel. The food is good and the dessert is great. Its the novelty of the night though. Its fun and nostalgic sitting making your own fondue. We laugh and eat and dinner takes 2-3 hours. Its fun and relaxing.
