I can drink coffee, 2or 3 cups at a time then lay down and sleep -why?!

Question: The caffeine myth that every one still buys into. Back in the 50's when these reports were being done, soda was still in its infancy and coffee was "dads" drink. For the last 35 years we have all grown up drinking coffee, tea, soda, chocolate, eating chocolate, etc, all things loaded with caffeine and we have adapted to it. That is why we now use energy drinks or double and triple shots or more of espresso to get our caffeine "kick"

more than likely immune to caffeine's affect on your body...i am the same way.

Your body has probably just adapted to the effects of caffeine

Coffee probably just doesn't have much of an effect on you. Either not enough caffeine or you're just immune to the effects of i.t

Coffee, as any coffee drinker has discovered, has a definite effect on sleep. Coffee, insomnia, and lethargy are closely related. For individuals who drink coffee, insomnia is a definite health threat that can occur after long term use of caffeine.

Caffeine affects the body in a similar, although less mild, way as amphetamines like cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroine. Amphetamines cause the body to resist uptake of dopamine and make the body feel more stimulated by increases the amount of dopamine in the brain. If you have ever gone for a long run or done some kind of persistent aerobic activity, you may have experienced dopamine's effects; this is typically known as a runners high. Thrill seekers also experience an incredible sensation as they shock their brains into releasing dopamine. Coffee, like hard-core drugs and thrilling experiences, also gives you your lift by increasing dopamine levels. Although heroin addicts experience much stronger withdrawal symptoms, caffeine withdrawal occurs for the same reasons heroin addict's withdrawal symptoms occur; the body craves dopamine.

Coffee, insomnia and adrenaline levels are also related. As coffee begins to stimulate your brain, the excess activity in the brain triggers the pituitary gland to secrete a hormone that causes the adrenal glands to produce adrenaline. The more caffeine you intake, the busier the brain, and the more adrenaline is used. Adrenaline is what gives you that incredible tense feeling you get when you enter a very dangerous situation; adrenaline sets your body on complete alert; caffeine, insomnia, and exhaustion go hand in hand.
