Is it okay to eat cold canned green beans?!

Question: Thanks.

Answers: Thanks.

Used to think so until I heard a blip on the news about canned beans being contaminated with some kind of food poisoning.
Just caught the tail end. Didn't catch which companies.
So I'd say be on the safe side and bring them to a good boil first then, put them in the ice box to get them back cold before putting them in your bean salad.

Sure, why not?

If you want to.

I ate cold canned asparagus last night....

Yes. It is precooked. And on top of that, it is a vegetable which most can be eaten raw anyways.

yeha its okaie they are already cooked ( they just need heating up)

yes thats why they say keep can goods incase of emergency. you can eat them cold

Yep.

Yes

well, I haven't had any problems with eating cold canned foods yet, so yeah, its safe.

It sure is. It's been processed correctly, so it's safe to eat. I eat a can of cold green beans daily. Sometimes, I dip the beans in Ranch dressing. Yummy!

Yes,if that is the way that you prefer to eat them! ;-)

Yeah, they're cooked already. It's your choice to heat them or just eat them.

Yeah I do it all the time.
