I am worried about the air that is inside my bags of lettuce I get from the store.?!
Should I be concerned?
Answers: i live in Iowa and I'm scared that if my lettuce was packaged in a city with smog and air pollutants, there might be some trapped in my bags of lettuce.
Should I be concerned?
No you should not. Food companies actually use air-replacement technologies for the air packaged in food- mostly in meat trays and such- where they modify the air with certain gasses that make meat stay red and lettuce stay fresh. Its not just "air" (like the air outside) its compressed oxygen mixed with other gasses. No worries love!
I think there are other things to worry about.
Oh please, I have been to Iowa with all the methane gas coming from the pig farms, you need not worry about a little air in lettuce bags.
You should not be concerned.
What little air you get in the bag is insignificant to what you breathe everyday. It's not even a full breath of air in a bag.
