Why Does a Girl Only Orders a Salad On The First Date?!

Question: You are on a Fancy Restaurant and the only thing that you order is a Salad???? Why, why?

Answers: You are on a Fancy Restaurant and the only thing that you order is a Salad???? Why, why?

'CAUSE THEY FEEL LIKE IT....
WHY DO U CALL YOURSELF MR RIGHT, IF YOUR REALLY MR WRONG!!!!!!!! :0 :(

If we eat like birds we think that we are percieved as being "thinner".. "Oh no, after 5 bites of lettuce and a crouton, I couldn't POSSIBLY eat another bite" ..yeah.. she probably has body issues.

Also, salad is "polite"... do you really want us getting elbows deep in a big plate of spaghetti? Mmmmmm face covered in marinara sauce with big pieces of oregano in every crevice of our perfect smile..
It's not cute, to say the least.

And finally.. salads are cheap... most of us (or at least me) don't want our first (ish) dates to break the bank. It's kind of rude..but again, that is how I think. I can't guarantee that other girls think that at all, and some turn out to be quite the opposite, but hey.... anything is possible.

Girls are complicated. ;)

Because she is: shy, self-conscious, not comfortable with you yet, a vegetarian and does not want to hurt your feelings, does not want to have to eat a messy meal, or is just feeling like being healthy and craving a salad!

You are dating the wrong kind of girl if she actually does that. It means she is either obsessed with her weight (therefore psycho) or she is so nervous about being with you that it's driving you both crazy. I'd say either scenario sucks for both parties.

Why does a girl only ORDER (without S, sorry I'm a proofreader) salad on the first date?

It doesn't apply to me but I heard Eva Mendez said it's because they're usually nervous on the first date, w/c would be cute (or pathetic) if that was the real reason.

For others, they might just be really into vegetables or healthy eating. Others may just be plain pretentious. Heck, if you're out w/ a guy, order a 5course meal. Now we'll see if the guy doesn't secretly think, "Why, why?!?"

They might be afraid of getting gas.

Not me. Girls who think guys want them to not eat I guess. . . .

just b/c the gurl wants to show some manners at first, and its easy to put into the mouth w/o all the cutting,
and u wouldnt like to date a gurl again if she ordered red-meat on the first date and savagely eats it with oil all over her mouth

you must only date girls who are shallow.....

I'm on Atkins and that is usually what I order anyways.

I always order the salmon when I go out on a date. It is easy to cut, chew and is light enough that I don't feel too full. I also eat the salad that comes with the meal and the side dish. So when and where is our date? lol

I usually order a salad, whether it's the first date, fifth date, or even when I'm out with friends and family. Why.....? Because I'm a vegetarian so there's usually not much else on the menu to choose from! I usually will get some sort of appetizer with my salad like mozzarella sticks or garlic bread.

OK - first of all, depending on what you put on a salad - it's not really as healthy as most believe! I think it's because they want you to think they are health conscious, and try maintain their figures...but REALLY, I guarantee 8 out of 10 women GRIP OUT when they get home on whatever junk food available!

If it's because they want something simple to eat without looking like a complete slob, not the best choice either, unless of course you like watching a woman shove over-sized leaves into her mouth! Sushi is another fun first date choice...haha

lol good question..i dont personally order salad because i DONT want my date to think im like those girls who only order salads...
most girls do that to not look like a pig or make the guy think she might be fat and boy-ish...
my only rule is to stay away from messy food, something i have to use my hands with...i dont wanna drop something or look clumsy...something like a huge burger dripping with sauce is not a good first date food.

No salad for me...that's why your going on a date for???

They're trying to impress you by not being an expensive date and by being health conscious. However, what you don't know is that when they get home, they'll finish off a quart of ice cream.

I'd also be worried about the girls that order big meals. They're probably just trying to gold-dig a meal from some poor unsuspecting guy.

It's kind of funny that in the year 2007 and with women's lib and girl power that chicks still expect guys to pay for dates. Even if the first date you go dutch, the guy ends up paying in the long run, especially if it becomes a relationship.

There are a ton of superb answers above mine.

But,

I order a salad mainly because I know that it's a light meal. I would feel obscenely full afterwards anything like a pasta or red meat.
You may ask why do I care if I feel full or not?

If its a date, sex may be in the cards... Who wants to have fun on a full stomach? Not I... In fact it would never happen.

Some food for though-

If she orders a salad, consider it a positive thing instead of thinking she's a picky/light eater.

Not this girl. On my first date with my husband I ordered a buffalo steak, baked potato and salad. I have never been one of those girls. I think they are afraid that the man will perceive them as fat if they eat real food. I assume that the man can see me and therefore I order what I'm hungry for.

Because they are insecure girls. Try dating a women

I don't , that's very gay. I usually go for the pasta dish AND the salad. Hey what's wrong with the marinara sauce?. I do stay away from garlic bread for the sake of my date, I do love it though.

DAVE C: You are a loser. Case Closed.

Aren't you married...LOL-

first of all..I order almost everything in whole menu and look like a pig and most of my date's say omg..you sure can eat LOL-

it depend's on the girl..and if she is on a diet..I hate salad's..Love tamales and carne asada and tortillas LOL-
