Only if they are covered in soil, if baking potatoes, maris piper etc I never bother and have not died yet

That sounds like a good idea. If you want you can wash mine to. Thanks.

I always make sure my personaly hygene is in tip-top condition.

Yes.

Yes you should always wash them.

I would these days as some farming methods realy take the buiscuit, such as spreading treated human faeces on land, using fertilisers that could potentially be carcinogens.... maybe id just give a little scrub to organic ones but most spuds now are treated in all sorts of ways.. the cleaned ones in the upermarkets are bleached.. eurgh.. wash yer spuds dude....

it would be recommended to get the soil and debris off the spud.

Yes, wash all vegetables before using. You would probably hate to know all that they are subjected to before you bring them home. (disgusting)

I wouldn't eat any that hadn't been washed. Better to be safe than sorry.

Yes you should for two reasons.
1) to clean the skins of dirt and contaminants
2) when they have been peeled you also rid them of excess starches which ooze from them (When you put them in clean water ever noticed the milky stuff coming off them).

I have relatives that have went straight out to the garden with a chair and salt shaker and had an all out feast. But food experts do so to wash all produce thoroughly before eating..

Yes, you should always wash vegetables and fruits.

Absolutely. In fact, I scrub mine with a little brush just to make sure I get them as clean as possible.

You can of course peel them but it is still a good idea to wash them first. You can never be too hygienic about the food you prepare for yourself or someone else.

Absolutely, you don't want them to be dirty now do you? ;-)

Yes wash them and use a scrubbing type of brush, don't be like a married woman in a school I was delivering to in Cumbernauld a few years ago, yes you guessed it she used washing up soap to wash them and wasn't pleased when the cook put them in the bucket, and told her to start again without the soap. I thought it was hilarious

yes and put on a condom
