well, I don't know about buying new things...but some things I did notice: I like steamed veggies without butter - just some soy sauce and fresh ground black pepper. I appreciate the flavor of breads without needing to add fatty spreads, especially with whole wheat bread. When I'm trying to cut back on sugar, I found that a piece of whole wheat toast tastes good with just saigon cinnamon instead of butter and cinnamon sugar. I got used to the taste of everything without cheese! Even when I'm not "counting calories", I usually eat these things like this, cuz now I really prefer the flavor

Apples
Berrys
Bananas
Whole Wheat bread
Lean Meat
Low-fat milk
Penut butter
Nuts
Jello
Pretzels
Yogurt
Oatmeal

Rice cakes. I found many different ways to eat them, like with salsa (instead of chips), with hummus, low fat ranch dip, peanut butter, and a few others. I really do love them and there such a great choice in comparison to chips or any other fried snack.
