How long can i leave my gingerbred house out to the public before i can eat it!!?!

Question: If it's not being touched by the public or exposed to lots of dust, there is not much of a time limit. You can even save it for next year, but microwave it for a few seconds to kill moth larvae, maybe 20 seconds. Keep it wrapped well and in a place with low humidity or the candies and frosting may get sticky.

If it's displayed in your home, then you might begin a tradition of eating it on New Year's Day or the day after Christmas, provided you make one each year. Have hot mulled cider with it or some hot cocoa, or even egg nog with or without rum or brandy.

Or if there is an orphanage where you live, you could even donate it to them to enjoy and munch up. What a gift that would be! You could even fill it with wrapped candies.

if you planing on eating it maybe a few days. But definetly dont try eating the icing it will be rock hard
