How can incorporate wasabi and mashed potatoes in a dish?!
Answers: i've only made them once but they came out pretty good and i didn't use a recipe. just boil and mash the potatoes, add some salt, a stick of butter, some milk (i used soy milk because that's all i had at hand and it still tasted good). I would just eyeball the amount of milk and if you have to add more as you mash then do so. i also added some paprika. i had the wasabi in a tube so i squeezed out a pinky finger lengths worth and whipped it all together. my husband didn't care for it so much but i loved it and even ate it for breakfast. it was really easy.
nastyyy.
thats gross. why would you want to do that?
Ohh that is good. I would use the wasabi as a butter substitute, but thin it out with a dressing, maybe like ranch.
I did this last night.
Boil your potatoes as usual, mash when soft.
Add buttermilk and 4 tbsp butter until creamy, then one table spoon wasabi and sea salt to taste. Blend well, and serve with a thick steak.
Wasabi mashed potatoes are a huge hit at my house, just make sure you season to your crowd's tastes.
wasabi mashed potatos? when will they be ready? ill be right there! why not the mashed with broiled chops (pork, lamb, etc) and braised escarole? LOVE THIS !!!!
You can make Shepard's Pie. Mix the wasabi in with the meat and then layer the top wioth mashed potatoes; as you normally would.
Or, you can make potatoe pancakes and use the wasabi as a dipping sauce.
