Are almonds fruits?!

Question: I am really allergic to tree nuts such as pecans, walnuts, hickory nuts, etc. But I can eat almonds and I do not react. I have heard that they are fruits from some people but others still think they are nuts. What are they, fruits, nuts, or something else?

Technaclly, all tree nuts are fruits. But Almonds are more closely related to peaches then they are to walnuts, chestnuts, etc. This is probably why you are allergic to them but not almonds
