Substitution for Minute / instant rice?!

Question: Can I substitute regular long grain rice for Minute rice? It's for a casserole, and it calls to stir the uncooked Minute rice into the casserole and bake covered for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. I'm worried the rice won't be done, and it'll be hard/chewy. Should I partially cook it first, or can I just put it in totally raw?

You can add it uncooked but I would add more liquid. I'm sure the recipe only calls for enough needed for the instant rice. You might need to cook it a little longer too.

depending on the casserole, you should be able to add partially cooked regular rice. As in pre-cook the rice for 45 minutes.

if you add uncooked rice, it will still be crunchy after 30 minutes.
