Is it best to eat fruit and vegetables that are in season? If yes, why?!

Question: Can someone list seasonal fruit and vegetables.

Answers: Can someone list seasonal fruit and vegetables.

no real reason you need to other than freshness and taste

now for strawberries if you live say in NY during season you get some of the best berries but in the winter you get those water tasting crap from Fl. does FL not have good berries? no they just can't ship the good ones to us they would go bad by the time they got here. good berries you get locally have a higher sugar content where the shipped ones have a higher water content, just different varieties - knowledge from growing up on a strawberry farm

no for some others like peaches - locally you can get them ripe from the tree but for growers to ship them they harvest when they are still hard and unripe - yes they ripen after being picked and there are tricks to helping the ripening process - such as put them in a paper bag at room temp - not too long though - knowledge from running a fruit and veggie stand for 8 years

i could keep going but it basically better to eat local fresh produce more for the quality

Yes it is because fresh fruit has fewer preservatives.

All fruit and vegtables are seasonal.

cheers.

yes! it's better to eat sesonal fruits and vegetables because if you buy them when they are not sesonal then they are most likely to be more expensive.

ofcourse. They are cheaper in season, and taste better.

Yes if you want the best tasting ones. It is nice how you can get just about anything any time these days. The ones out of season don't seem to taste as good though.

if you eat them in season then you can eat locally supporting your local farms. You also don't waste as much energy moving them from other parts of the world. By this I mean "in season" in your area as fruits and vegetables come "in season" from all around the world now. And certainly you want to eat them in season in your area because local produce out-of-season is either not available or is of poorer quality (tougher, less sweet or juicy).

yes
fruits and vegetables have a lot of vitmins that is required for the body. their is a famous quort
"an apple a day keep the doctor away"
