How do they get the shells off of the sunflower seeds in mass quantity before bagging them and selling?!


Question: A shell 'hopper' at the manufacturer crushes the shell and sifts throught the millions of sunflower seeds.The shell is discarded,and the seed rolls down the conveyer on its way to being salted and eventually bagged.

It may be a rumor but I heard they hire a a lot of elves and they
open them by biting on the shells and spitting out the seeds..
Makes you want to go out and by a bag.... Yummy
