When it comes to food are you close minded or open minded??!


Question: I have had snails, frogs legs, raw beef, chickens feet, goat, rabbit et cetera. Actually I embrace all foods, particuarly hot n spicy - Thai, India, Mexican et cetera, oh and Italian is grand also. - I think why miss out on all these treats.

So you like to try it all or do you have issues with certain foods?

I pretty much eat it all but I stay away from ox penis or moose balls or still beating heart of guinnea pigs or anything that could be contrued as "gross" I will eat snakes though, I shy away from frog for good reason which I'll explain in a moment. If it comes to eating meats that supposedly contain aphrodisiacical contents (those being contents high in testo-sterone and or oxi-testo-sterone or Marin, premarin, or oxi-esgen or estrogens from meats or even those from some plants from vitex plants or even those from some nuts or even those from some drugs such as "pot" ( no I dont smoke but alot of my friends do ) any of the blundt nosed snakes such as adders, cobras and corals have alot of testo-sterones, some of the rattlers have alot of estrogens in the exterior skins and fatty skin.......No I dont do the urine soup thing from the snakes. all those reptilian and amphibian hormones can caused your body to react as if it was reacting to a bee sting and though you dont feel lit right away,.( it could take a few days even you might be sleeping and wakew up cuz you're having a hard time sleeping,......your lungs are swelling up,....your own antihitamines working against the sup[posed poison in your body,...what it is is just a small lump of fat that didnt get digested that has somehow ened up in your small intestine and now you're reacting,......best thing top do is go to the hospital and tell them what you ate over the past 3 days. very few people react like that but I have a few times. not a great deal of fun I must say..........one form a hormone though it's the same in theory is just not the same in reality,...better just to stick with what you know best,.....for me? that would be really good bar b que, chinese food, thai food or a really good chicken fried steak and mashed potatos and corn bread. and spinach. No fried ants, no scorpions, no meal worms or grubs, thats just a bit gross.

I like to try most foods. I think I am pretty open minded, especially about many different cultures' food. However, there are a few things that you mentioned that I would not have, but that's mostly because I am a vegetarian.

Pretty open. I've had most of the things you've listed. I won't eat Lingua or Menudo, or anything else that comes from an animals but. I get freaked out about eating a toungue. But, I've eaten a cow's face before. I think I'm pretty open, but I do have limitations.

I am pretty open. I've had a lot of gamey foods like muskrat, deer, and beaver. I've also had some weird fruits like this one called Durian which smells like old socks. I'll try mostly anything. But if I don't like it, I just won't eat it again. I also like spicy food. I love to sweat while I eat and pay for what I ate the next day. Sometimes it's a small price. Other times, it's a huge price. It's all good though.

I like spicy Thai and spicy Indian food. I like spicy italian and spicy American! Spicy drinks like hot tomato juice are good, and spicy stir fry dishes.

So long as no cruelty is involved and it doeesn't include dogs or cats!

When I was little we once ate goanna cooked in coals, and a pigeon pie when we had a short holiday with my uncles at their gold mine in Monto (you can see how much gold they found.. not much!). I was too young to be revulsed and I remember it clearly. (Especially falling down a cliff into the water!)

My mother was an accomplished and adventurous cook of international cuisine, so I grew up eating authentic French, Italian, Greek , Chinese etc. food when other kids in Australia were having sausages and three vegetables every night.

My dear Mummy is dead now, and I have inherited amongst other things a library of amazing cook books, and a plethora of strange cooking and food preparation thingies . This includes many escargo (snail) tongs and a couple of escargo platters. I treat them all with great reverance.

I Love Thai, Indian etc too. Some people are adventurous and like to try new things, but generally I think they are much like ducks in that way,they will moslty only accept what they were raised on.
I was raised on an adventure and the adventure lives on !

Openminded I have had snails frog legs....southern USA food..love sushi...mondongo...chapalinas...I love Mexican..Korean...Itallian.. French Ethiopian even east Indian...and love Ethiopian.injera and meat dishes..

I guess I am close minded, I don't want to eat anything raw except fruits and veggies. I dont like the idea of eating snails, oysters, frog legs, sardines, sushi, etc. I do like my steaks med-rare though. I love spicy food cajun and mexican, I love Italian food too. I'm not a fan of Asian foods though.
