Put the bananas in a paper bag and close it - it doesn't have to be fully sealed, just fold over the top.

What this does is traps the ethylene that the bananas naturally produce (and are also gassed with, prior to being shipped to supermarkets) inside the bag, causing the bananas to ripen more quickly. Once the bananas have reached the desired stage of ripeness, remove them from the paper bag and put them in the refrigerator - this will slow down the ripening process. While in the refrigerator, and in a very short period of time, the skins will turn very dark in color - but don't be alarmed. The fruit inside will keep for several days before becoming over-ripe.

You can also use this method to ripen pears, avocados and more - just put the unripe item in a paper bag with a banana (or an apple.)

keep them in the sunlight

brown bag in a dark spot.no fridge...they will just turn black and nasty

put them in a brown paper bag with an apple and put near a window they will ripen faster.

put them in to a brown paper bag on your island or counter tops. just dont put them in the fridge.

Brown paper bag on counter

turn up the heat and put them in the sun.
then store yellow bananas in the fridge

put them in a microwave. XD rofl

no but honestly, wrap them in a newspaper and put them in a dark place.

im serious.

dunk them into piss lol jk umm i think rubbing them or mushing them alittle helps.

Put the bananas in a paper bag for a couple of days or until yellow.

Try putting them in a brown paper bag and leaving them on the fridge and check them in a day.

SUN LIGHT

I usually leave mine on the kitchen counter.

PUT THEM IN ALUMINUM FOIL, AND STORE IN A FREEZER. THEY WILL GET PRIMED....JUST PERFECT FOR A WHOLESOME SMOOTHIE

My mother-in-law said to stick them into a brown paper bag. I haven't tried that yet, so I dont know if it works. Couldn't hurt to try it.

Just let them outside, I mean in a room temperature, for a day and they should be yellow soon. But don't you think it will be easier if you go to the store to get bananas the way you like them?

My parents do that. I think the only reason they last longer is because you can't eat them. Then you decide to eat one anyway and its so bitter. Only time can ripen I believe.

Bananas ripen when you leave them with other fruits.

yeap, keep them under sunlight is the best that's why they always hang them outside the store..

Put into brown bag overnight, they will be ready for your cereal in the morning.

Place them in a brown paper grocery bad and place in a cool dark place like under your bed, in a cupboard. In a few days wthey will be riper

Put them in a dark place. If they have any yellow on them at all they should be ripe within 24 hours. (Learned from my sister who bought green bananas for Christmas stockings a few days before thinking they'd ripen at the usual rate while hidden in the cupboard. They were ripe the next day.)

If they're totally dark green, they won't ripen at all. If that's the case you can cook them and eat them. They're great sauteed with a little butter, lime juice and a touch of salt. (Learned that recipe in Honduras.)

dip them into the sea and hang them up in the sun... they'll ripen *super* fast!

Wash them on setting no.5 in your washing machine for 30 minutes, use Ariel or similar washing powder and spin dry for 1 minute. wallaaaaaaaa, here it is. I am not sure if they will be riped by now but they sure are shredded to bits.

Bananas should ripen if wrapped & let alone for a few days, newspaper Or brown paper both do equally well, also go by the feel, they should feel a bit soft & give slightly under thumb pressure then the ripening process has started. In India we have some varieties of banana which still stay green even when fully ripeThe fridge is no place for bananas.
