Sachertorte in the deep freezer?!

Question: I bought the famous Sachertorte from Vienna (the original chocolate cake).

On the box it says it can be eaten before the 18th of December.

But i bought it for Xmas!

Should i place it in the deep freezer until xmas or will that not be a good idea?

Only those who know should answer please.

You can freeze it for up to 3 months, provided the cream hasn't been frozen before. (The cake can be frozen as many times as you like). Thaw it out very slowly in the fridge. You'll find it's soggier that it was before.

Why not eat it and make yourself another one for Christmas. They're not difficult - especially if you use an electric oven.

I don't think it will hurt it if you do. But you should write or call them to be siure. I was curious about this cake, found a recipe for it if anyone is interested. Good luck
