What kind of desserts were popular in the year 1950 and in the old west?!

Question: its for a project for a class. I need to make a menu for a 50's resterant, an old west resterant, and a future reserant.

I am stumped on the desserts part though.

1950 IS "NOT" the oldwest the twist and the chicken along with the pony were popular dance moves.
as for food,,,, drive- ins were all over,,, Didn't Mc D's start 56 - 58
